I've also searched in google for this and found that Transmission supports pre-allocation with a setting in some config file in two forms: fast which should be the default and full, but the config file on Ubuntu is not where it should be, so I quit searching.
Anyway, I'll use it without pre-allocation. I've found the setting for transmission and set it to full pre-allocation and it has the same problem as the qbittorrent pre-allocation and it even hangs the GUI, so it's not a qbt bug, you can mark this closed.
